![]() ![]() If you can't boot from the Leopard disk, and the buzzing continues, take the iMac in for repairs. Make sure there is always 10% free disk space. While you have the Disk Utility window open, look at the bottom of the window where you see Capacity and Available. If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart. ![]() Select your start up disk and click Restart When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager. ![]() If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired. *(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. If so, Select First Aid in the Main panel. See if the MacintoshHD 10.x.x shows up in the panel on the left. If it gets to the Installer window, from the Menu Bar, click Utilities/Disk Utility. You can let go of the C key when you see the Apple logo. Press the power button, insert the Leopard DVD, and hold down the C key all at the same time. ![]()
